Holographic outfits: back to the FUTURE

Shimmer metallic outfits - MAJE SS13

Shimmer shades and metallics are supposed so much more suitable for fall and winter, however this season, the rules were broken. The Holographic trend took over so many S/S 2013 runways and we really love how brands makes holographic outfits such a craved style for summertime! Not only innovative and high-end labels such as Balenciaga or Hussein Chalayan have holographic styles, but these are also reflected in the shimmer and metallics of Maje‘s summer 2013 collection. The pieces are minimalistic, yet the shimmer detailing makes them such a cool option both for day-wear and for night-time.

Get the look by focusing around one shimmer piece and build from there. You can choose holographic touches on your shoes or sneakers and create a cool summer outfit by pairing them to basic pieces in white, nudes or black.

How to wear metallics

Silver Skirt -Metallic Outfits

Silver leather skirts or shorts are not made to be worn only for clubbing or in the evening anymore. Although they are bold pieces, you can sport the look by dressing them down with moccasins or flat sandals.

Silver Shorts -Metallic Outfits

Metallic clutches are the easiest way to get into the holographic zone. iPad cases work just as well. We love how they are recently worn all over the city! How to wear metallics

Holographic outfits are suitable even for your 80’s disco parties or those futuristic 90’s parties. Take a look on our Holographic Pinterest board and get more inspiration on how to get that perfect metallic look!

Boheminan Style Beach Babe

Beachwear is mainly constructed around the swimwear piece you are wearing. Find one that incorporates some of main bohemian details. You can either choose a one-piece bathing suit or a 2-piece design that’s decorated with fringe, crochet, marble beading, or Aztec or floral prints.

Super-accesorize! This is the key of getting a true bohemian beach look stands in the cool layering of colorful bracelets or long necklaces. Floral headbands or hats can definitely get that boho vibe going.

When it comes to styling your hair, the best approach is to go for those natural beach waves, let the wind make your hair feel free and alive. You can use beaded or floral headbands, hats or scarves to work with the bohemian style. Braided hairstyles are also something you could try.

Boho Beach Accessories

Don’t be afraid to experiment with fun sunglasses! You cannot go wrong with a retro style with round or foxy frames, but if you want to break the chain, try out something more eclectic and futuristic. Colored mirror sunglasses are very chic right now and so are white frames. GO SUNNIES!

The entire bohemian style outfit should look relaxed and effortless. Go for short jeans with loose tanks or find a crochet flowy dress to wear on top of your swimwear to add that romantic vibe.

BEST OF: Summer boots

Your lovely ankle rock boots should not be stored into dark lockers and saved for colder days. You can easily mix and match them into lovely summer outfits. Isabel Marant, Chloe or Rag and Bone are making cool outfits statements on net-a-porter, however you can take a look at the various street-style ensembles out there.Best of Summer Boots

Summer boots are cut-out and made out of good quality leather. They can be the black rock-inspired ones, or they are soft and made out of suede. They usually show your sun-kissed legs and even your ankles. These are not tall boots, but more a sexy short shoes. You can practically wear them with anything, it kind of all depends on the type of result that you are targeting.

We really adore the outfits with short jeans and a blazer or cardigan, and also the romantic bohemian look that these boots give to your summer dresses or skirts. It makes the outfit chic but still cool and wearable, a sort of updated casual look.

CUT-OUT ENSEMBLES – The new outfits

The 2-piece outfit has reinvented itself with every decade of fashion and successively embedded the latest ideologies. Used primarily to define the body and emphasize the hourglass shape and wasp waist,  the bustier, brassiere, or the corset began to make its appearance in e deux-piece combinations such as bodice dresses and coordinated jackets.

Along the years, we should mention as well the suit ensembles inspired by Jackie Kennedy, or the short and cropped  Chanel-type of jackets, who were the daily outfits of our grandmothers or mothers to the most awesome parties! The 80’s and 90’s brought some freedom from the conservative shapes and things began to be headed towards the boyfriend suit with shoulder-pads, but with an over-sized casual form.

The NEW CLASSY has been redefined over the years.

And for us, it’s all an experiment of our own personal style. Deux-piece stamps every outfit.

Suits can be anyhow, if you know how to wear them.

This is to show that cut-out styles, boyfriend or lingerie as outerwear do not have well-defined limits, everything is allowed, as long as it is stylish or statement. The results are either new outfits from skirts and bustier made of the same or complementary materials, or cut-out dresses. Either way, the time is now, get sexy!

Heroines in ReHAB – New Year’s Resolutions

EVEN THE MOST DEMOCRATIC PARTY-GIRLS ARE IN NEED OF A

Refresh.

After a day of preparations and a night of embellishment….

you go to sleep smiling and envisioning the most beautiful moments of the evening. You can still feel soft pain from your high-heels and take a peek at your amazing outfit which is now sitting quietly on an armchair. The party might be over, but you will still feel its reverberant effects for a few days. The morning after will embody the clinking of glasses or joyful laughter.

I expect New Year’s Eve caught up with you while you were surrounded by all your lovely people and dancing the golden beats. The champagne couldn’t have been too bad either, even if you drank it from the chic plastic cups!

The post – holiday ERA must bring an evolution in how you see things. You know what are your resolutions and we know ours, but in the end, each year means growing-up and re-imagining the universe we live in. A fresh perspective and a healthy attitude ensure the alignment of the present to fit our current needs and expectations. What 2013 expects is not a uniform you should put on and a shape in which you need to fit, but that unique authentic element which is needed for the entire system to work. And that is only YOU.

This is why we need fresh forces to conquer this year. We suggest the pampering ritual that will rejuvenate even the most dreamy fashionistas, by bringing new miracle powers and to start looking at the would with courage and ambition, starting … right NOW.Porcelain Skin - Makeup TrendsFocus on your skin and complexion after the holidays. Remember that this is also the chilly season and even if you might be sun-bathing now, you still need to look after your hair, skin and keep them ravishing. This means a lot of hydrating and some special products. Glowing skin is not just a Renaissance or Elizabethan feature, but it could be the perfect canvas for a minimalistic and full of vitamin make up. Look for products who are soft and translucent in order to go for a DE-TOX theme and remember beauty is within you, bring it out!

A lavander bath will stimulate your senses and creativity – L’Occitane / Forget about the matte skin foundation and try Extra Virgin Minerals by The Body Shop  and then finish off your model complexion with  Sephora Sculpting Disk / Apply them of course over the best hydrating creme from Clinique and a good primer from MAC / For your hair focuse on vitamin serums from Sabon or an ultra-hydratic butter from The Body Shop.

Now is also the time to invest in yourself. Any sports you love? Or maybe some fashion books maybe?
